More Vacation Pages!

Oh have I had some fun today!  I actually haven't made many scrapbook pages lately so it was fun to sit down and try some things out.  Are they final?  I'm not sure, but I do think that I'm willing to share them at this point!  And I know I had a lot of fun!  I continued on my quest to document our trip up north.  I wanted to do a page with some journalling so I would remember all the great times we had, many of which are not documented in pictures.
The first two pages I made using "Boardwalk" by Brine Designs.  This was one of her submissions in the Design Factor Race and I really loved the colors she used!  And the rest of her work is just as cute!  The font is "peasnow" from kevinandamanda.com/fonts.  If you haven't been to that website for some fun scrapbooking fonts, then check it out already!  You'll love what you find!
The second page is more from that same kit along with the font: Bosshole.  That one is just silly.  For no reason at all I kept dressing AJ in clothes that were the same colors as Matt!  It was pretty funny to see them together and it looked like we had planned it out for some funny reason, but we did not.  Aside from that, I just love the cute pictures of them together.

The last two pages were a lot of fun to put together!  And so was that time in the pool which is how I wanted to capture it - bright, cheery, and fun!  I decided to use "A Walk in the Park" by Echo Park with the font Everytime I miss you.  Now we had tried to get AJ swimming before but he was either very studious or just not too into it.  This time was completely different, but it didn't seem like it was going to be.  Matt held him and slowly dipped him further and further into the water.  AJ was holding on for dear life!  He didn't look scared, but more unsure about the entire experience.  Then he slowly started to ease and Matt was guiding him across the water.  Suddenly he started kicking his little feet like he was swimming!  A natural!  After that, he was full of smiles and enjoyed skimming the water and bouncing around in it.  It made all of us very happy to see the fun he was having.

Our Trip Up North

I've been so busy working on my designs for the Design Factor Race that I had not even taken the pictures off our camera from our trip up to Door County, Wisconsin over the long 4th of July weekend.  We had such a great time on that trip. Mostly because the weather was so perfect that we spent a lot of time outside. With the sun shining all we wanted to do was be out on the lake; however, that was not in the plans when the boat motor gave out about a football field from the dock.  That was interesting.  Thankfully, a kind soul and the swimming abilities of Matt, Jim, and Finn allowed us to safely return to shore.  That was AJ's first boat ride and we will surely never forget how that one went down!
However, the rest of the weekend was filled with fun and as I sat here finally reviewing the photos I just couldn't wait to start scrapping them!  So before I get in some lunch for the day I was able to put together this little item using Echo Park's "Life is Good" kit.  It was a beautiful night and we were headed out to celebrate my brother's birthday.  It was also a great opportunity for a nice family photo with the sun setting on the lake behind us.  Ah, good times.
And I've also found some time to scrap a few pics of AJ and my parents - the grandparents that had a ball spoiling him all weekend long.  He sure was the center of attention!  I scrapped this using my own kit, Tree Time.  The font used on this page is Digs My Heart from http://www.kevinandamanda.com/fonts/

New Freebie! - That's Birdie

I cannot believe I am already to Challenge #4 in the Design Factor Race.  It's been a great time pushing myself to try something new and I am really enjoying the specific requirements of each challenge.  The latest challenge was to choose a shape (but not a circle or square) and incorporate it into patterned papers, embellishments, and an alpha.

After much debate, I decided to have fun with a little birdie I drew in Illustrator - I know, how fitting for me!  I made a few patterns with my shape but also made a few more so that I could have additional patterns on the birds themselves.  I do love patterns!
This mini kit will be free for download until July 26th RIGHT HERE!

New Kit - In the Tropics...and it's free!

I'm having a great time participating in the Design Factor Challenge over at digiscrapconnect.com.  There is just a ton of great work showing up in the gallery and the challenges are really making me think -  and do some different designs.  It feels good to push myself to try something new and I know my design skills are growing as a result.

I'm very happy to share my latest submission which will be available for download until July 21st!  So go ahead and grab it here. This link has expired! Check back for more offers in the future!

The challenge was to use a monochromatic color scheme of neutral shades.  Then to add some color to it to "pop."  I decided on khaki to start with and well, once I had my scheme all set it started to remind me of my trips to Hawaii.  So I decided to add some tropical splash to it and TADA! In The Tropics was born.  I hope that you enjoy it and can find some fun vacation photos to scrap with.  And if you don't have any, then time for a vacation I guess! :)

Happy Scrapping!!
