Printing on Canvas

I have created this page to provide some helpful information about printing my designs on canvas, specifically my subway art designs.

My digital prints are formatted at 16x20 inches and include a 1.5 inch border without text within those measurements.  This is because I have found that gallery wrapping, where the actual image is wrapped around the wood frame, is the most common form of printing service available for canvas.  Therefore, I wanted to create my designs in this manner to make it easier for the customer to get the look they want.  This also ensures that should you choose a different edge (wood or painted) for your canvas, you can be assured that the text included in the design will not be missing.

When selecting a printing service to print your purchased design it is important to ensure they follow this format.  You many need to make specific selections to ensure this is done correctly and a continuation of the design is used for the wrap.

Some printers will offer both a 3/4 inch and 1.5 inch wrap.  For my designs just know that if you select the 3/4 inch wrap there will be a slight border of background color surrounding the text.  The look you prefer is up to you!

I am in no way affiliated with any printers but did want to provide a short list of online printers I have found that will print your canvas according to the specifications listed above.  They are:
  • Costco Photo
  • Canvas On Demand
  • Easy Canvas Prints
  • Snapfish
  • PrintCopia
I hope this information is helpful to you in determining how you would like to print your digital art work.  If you have further questions, please contact me and I'll be happy to help!
